Spend a day exploring the rich heritage of the Copper Coast towns of Kadina, Wallaroo and Moonta; discover a variety of museums, immerse yourself in history and learn about the region's Cornish connection.
Absorb the history of the Copper Coast and relax on a glistening beach at Wallaroo, Port Hughes or Moonta Bay. Early mornings at Wallaroo can reward you with the spectacular sight of the prawn boats leaving the harbour (when in season).
The Copper Coast is a wealth of local and South Australian history, with a variety of museums to explore including The Farm Shed Museum and Tourism Centre, Wallaroo Heritage and Nautical Museum, and the Moonta Mines Museum. These three townships, known as 'Australia's Little Cornwall' host the biennial Kernewek Lowender Copper Coast Cornish Festival, the world's largest Cornish Festival, held in odd numbered years in May.
Don’t forget to try a traditional Cornish pasty, available at bakeries throughout the Copper Coast.
