Stansbury to Edithburgh Drive

The coastal drive from Stansbury to Edithburgh and beyond provides scenic views and with oysters farmed in the waters just off shore, this area is a seafood lovers delight. Enjoy the drive or stop and wander along the beautiful coastal trails.

As the sun rises over picturesque Oyster Bay, keep an eye out for dolphins and seals frolicking in the shallows. The bay is home to oyster farms that can easily be seen at low tide. When in season, local oysters can be purchased or take a boat tour to taste oysters plucked straight from the sea, with Pacific Estate Oyster tours.

Take a leisurely drive along the coast road, through the small hamlet of Wool Bay and the grain port of Port Giles on your way to Coobowie. Try fishing at Edithburgh or dine on delicious seafood.

Just south of Edithburgh is the Wattle Point Wind Farm and information bay. These magnificent machines stand 68 metres high and harvest the natural resource of the wind that buffets the southern coastline of Yorke Peninsula.

Along this coastline are some of the areas most historic lighthouses, with Troubridge Island Lighthouse, offshore from Edithburgh; and Troubridge Hill Lighthouse just to the South.

Learn about the historic shipwrecks along Yorke Peninsula's rugged coastline with a visit to the Edithburgh Museum.
