James Well

James Well is a small coastal settlement just south of Ardrossan. Overlooking beautiful Gulf St Vincent, holiday homes line the coast and surrounding clifftop.

Located approximately two hours drive from Adelaide, James well is popular with families for fishing, crabbing and as a great base to explore Yorke Peninsula.

There’s a five and a half kilometre James Well and Rogues Point to Pine Point walking trail. The trail is mainly sealed and follows the coast road past the original windmill that once supplied the towns with mains water.

James Well has a cement boat ramp for the fishing enthusiasts, suitable for launching at high tide only or you can head to nearby Ardrossan which has an all-weather boat ramp, from which you can launch at all times.

The Yorke Peninsula is the traditional lands of the Narungga (Nharangga) people, who have lived on, and cared for, this country since the beginning of time. We work, live and travel on Nharannga Banggara [Country], and we take time away from those pursuits to acknowledge and pay our deep respects to the Nharangga Elders of the past and present.

Today, it is essential that we continue to care for and protect our spectacular natural environment. Tread lightly and leave no trace. Learn more about responsible and respectful travel on Yorke Peninsula.
