Mozzie Flat Campground is located approximately 4km from Port Moorowie, on unsealed road, via Green Hill Road and Mozzie Flat Road. It is a small and secluded campground, but be aware that the entrance along Mozzie Flat Road can become corrugated at times. The sites are generous but the small turning areas make it unsuitable for most large vans. Sites are unallocated – it is first in best dressed.

The Campground is a short walk (30m) through the sandy dune to the beautiful Sharples Beach; a great spot for snorkelling, kayaking and beach walking. The beach is mostly sand, but a reef is nearby and the seaweed can build up at times.

A toilet is provided, but self-sufficient camping is encouraged. The closest bin bank is in Yorketown, at Weaners Flat – a public park, off Stansbury Road. Yorketown is a town with many facilities, including: a large supermarket, pharmacy, cafes, bakery, hotels, petrol station, hospital, library and much more.

The Yorke Peninsula is the traditional lands of the Narungga (Nharangga) people, who have lived on, and cared for, this country since the beginning of time. We work, live and travel on Nharannga Banggara [Country], and we take time away from those pursuits to acknowledge and pay our deep respects to the Nharangga Elders of the past and present.

Today, it is essential that we continue to care for and protect our spectacular natural environment. Tread lightly and leave no trace. Learn more about responsible and respectful travel on Yorke Peninsula.
