Located on Corny Point Road beside the cricket oval and opposite the caravan park, the Corny Point Mural transforms the exterior of the public toilets into a vibrant celebration of local identity. Designed by Christine McCarthy and painted by the Corny Point community in April 2006, this public artwork was made possible through the Country Arts SA Regional Arts Fund and the Corny Point Progress Association.
The mural captures the essence of Corny Point's coastal and rural charm, with detailed depictions of sea life, native flora and fauna, rolling green hills, and a watchful kangaroo. Each wall tells a story—whether of the ocean's bounty, the beach's colourful treasures, or the inland agricultural landscape. This community-led project is not just functional public art, but a warm invitation to pause, look closer, and appreciate the unique beauty of this seaside town.

The Yorke Peninsula is the traditional lands of the Narungga (Nharangga) people, who have lived on, and cared for, this country since the beginning of time. We work, live and travel on Nharannga Banggara [Country], and we take time away from those pursuits to acknowledge and pay our deep respects to the Nharangga Elders of the past and present.

Today, it is essential that we continue to care for and protect our spectacular natural environment. Tread lightly and leave no trace. Learn more about responsible and respectful travel on Yorke Peninsula.
