Queen Square is located in the centre of Moonta between George, Henry, Robert and William Street. Queen Square is a community reserve with a new shaded bbq and picnic tables area as well as separate shaded seats. The area is grassed with many shaded areas from the large Morton Bay fig trees with picninc tables and seats. It is also the location for the heritage water fountain and rotunda. Public toilets are conveniently located near the bbq and picnic area. Look for the pair of wombat statues. They highlight the significance of the wombat and the role they played in the discovery of Copper in the area; presented by the Moonta Progress Association. The Yorke Peninsula is the traditional lands of the Narungga (Nharangga) people, who have lived on, and cared for, this country since the beginning of time. We work, live and travel on Nharannga Banggara [Country], and we take time away from those pursuits to acknowledge and pay our deep respects to the Nharangga Elders of the past and present.

Today, it is essential that we continue to care for and protect our spectacular natural environment. Tread lightly and leave no trace. Learn more about responsible and respectful travel on Yorke Peninsula.
