The Sole Walk is a 5 hour walk from Butlers Beach to Kangaroo Island Lookout and return OR, Butlers Beach to Meehan Lookout and return.

The walks pass spectacular coastline adjacent to Hillocks Drive, and are a highlight of Yorke Peninsula's Walk the Yorke walking track. Experience the rugged coastline, quiet sandy beaches and pristine rock pools. Enjoy marine life, spectacular bird-watching and flowering coastal vegetation. Look out for the rare and endangered Hooded Plover, Osprey and Sea Eagles as you pass.

These are challenging walks (category 3) due to the rocky beach line, soft sand and climbing up and down cliff faces. The walk is for sure-footed walkers wearing sturdy foot wear suitable to traverse granite rocks. Plan the walk with the prevailing wind behind you for greater enjoyment.

Pack your lunch, a snack and good supply of water. Pack your bathers to cool off in one of many rockpools on hot summer days. Wear long trousers or garters and socks to protect your legs from scratches

The Yorke Peninsula is the traditional lands of the Narungga (Nharangga) people, who have lived on, and cared for, this country since the beginning of time. We work, live and travel on Nharannga Banggara [Country], and we take time away from those pursuits to acknowledge and pay our deep respects to the Nharangga Elders of the past and present.

Today, it is essential that we continue to care for and protect our spectacular natural environment. Tread lightly and leave no trace. Learn more about responsible and respectful travel on Yorke Peninsula.
