Yorke Peninsula

Walk the Yorke Leisure Trail stretches over 500 kilometres of stunning Yorke Peninsula coastline, offering walkers and cyclists a chance to explore samphire flats, mangroves, native bushland, and windswept dunes. From rugged cliffs to pristine beaches and secluded coves, the trail showcases some of South Australia's most breathtaking scenery — with the chance to spot dolphins, seabirds, and even glimpse the region's rich agricultural landscape.

Along the way, you'll find trail markers, picnic areas, bench seats, shelters with rainwater tanks, and interpretive signage. These signs, designed with help from local Progress Associations, schools, and the Narungga people, share local stories, history, and Dreaming knowledge that bring the land to life.

Whether you're after a short stroll or a long adventure, there's a section for everyone. Visit the Yorke Peninsula Council website for more details and topographical trail maps

The Yorke Peninsula is the traditional lands of the Narungga (Nharangga) people, who have lived on, and cared for, this country since the beginning of time. We work, live and travel on Nharannga Banggara [Country], and we take time away from those pursuits to acknowledge and pay our deep respects to the Nharangga Elders of the past and present.

Today, it is essential that we continue to care for and protect our spectacular natural environment. Tread lightly and leave no trace. Learn more about responsible and respectful travel on Yorke Peninsula.
