Located on Stansbury Road in Yorketown, Weaners Flat Reserve is a vibrant community space with something for everyone. Named after the area's pastoral history—where lambs were once weaned from their mothers—the reserve honours its roots while offering a welcoming environment for locals and visitors alike.

The reserve features a traditional children's playground alongside a nature play area, encouraging creativity and exploration. Scattered throughout the grounds, you'll find colourful painted rocks, whimsical metal animal sculptures, and a charming mosaic trail that winds beside Par Lake. Large open lawns provide space for games, picnics, or peaceful relaxation.

Weaners Flat Reserve also marks the beginning of the Yorke Peninsula Salt Lake Trail, with a sheltered interpretive sign sharing insights into the region's unique salt lakes. Amenities include clean toilets, picnic seating, EV charging and nearby parking.

Adjacent to the reserve are key Yorketown landmarks: the SYP Community Hub (with visitor services), the Yorketown Progress Hall (a popular venue for events), and the local BMX track. Across Par Lake, the Yorketown Golf Course adds to the scenic backdrop.

Whether you're following the Salt Lake Trail, hosting a community event, or just enjoying a lakeside stroll, Weaners Flat Reserve offers a peaceful, engaging stop in the heart of Yorketown.

The Yorke Peninsula is the traditional lands of the Narungga (Nharangga) people, who have lived on, and cared for, this country since the beginning of time. We work, live and travel on Nharannga Banggara [Country], and we take time away from those pursuits to acknowledge and pay our deep respects to the Nharangga Elders of the past and present.

Today, it is essential that we continue to care for and protect our spectacular natural environment. Tread lightly and leave no trace. Learn more about responsible and respectful travel on Yorke Peninsula.
