Tucked in the heart of Yorketown, the Centenary Park offers a quiet, scenic spot to pause, unwind, and appreciate local heritage. Established in 1975 to commemorate 100 years of local government, this well-maintained garden is both a community meeting place and a tribute to the region's rural charm.

Its most striking feature is the expansive mural spanning the back wall of nearby buildings—including the local bakery. This vibrant artwork brings to life local landscapes and evokes a deep sense of place. In front, a grapevine-covered arbor shades picnic tables, creating a leafy, peaceful nook to sit and enjoy a pie, pastry, or coffee from the bakery just steps away.

There are two lawn areas—ideal for children to burn off some energy while adults relax. Large stone planters filled with native shrubs and flowers add a natural beauty that complements the surrounding architecture and trees.

Though not a formal playground, the garden's appeal lies in its calm and charm—perfect for a rest stop while travelling through the Yorke Peninsula. Ample roadside parking is available nearby, and the nearest public toilets are just a short walk away, next to the Post Office.

The Yorke Peninsula is the traditional lands of the Narungga (Nharangga) people, who have lived on, and cared for, this country since the beginning of time. We work, live and travel on Nharannga Banggara [Country], and we take time away from those pursuits to acknowledge and pay our deep respects to the Nharangga Elders of the past and present.

Today, it is essential that we continue to care for and protect our spectacular natural environment. Tread lightly and leave no trace. Learn more about responsible and respectful travel on Yorke Peninsula.
