Forge Your Own Adventure – Blacksmith Experience (1 Hour)

Yorke Peninsula

ATDW pixel
Step into the heat and try your hand at traditional blacksmithing in this one-hour taster session at Wildman Farm. Held in their working coke forge, you'll learn the basics of working with fire, steel, and hammer to create a small forged item to take home. No prior experience needed—just curiosity and a love for hands-on craft.

Set in the heart of their farm's purpose-built forge, this immersive session is perfect for anyone wanting to experience the age-old trade in a relaxed and welcoming environment. All tools and materials are provided. Come as you are and leave with something uniquely yours.

You'll have the chance to make something practical—like a coat hook, S-hook for macramé, leaf keyring, or letter opener—or something a little more fun and creative, like a decorative snail or a twisted steel bracelet. For safety, they recommend wearing cotton clothing and closed-in shoes—you'll be working with fire and hot metal, after all!

Stay on for a warm tea or coffee inside our barn and discover what else you can create at Wildman Farm.

The Yorke Peninsula is the traditional lands of the Narungga (Nharangga) people, who have lived on, and cared for, this country since the beginning of time. We work, live and travel on Nharannga Banggara [Country], and we take time away from those pursuits to acknowledge and pay our deep respects to the Nharangga Elders of the past and present.

Today, it is essential that we continue to care for and protect our spectacular natural environment. Tread lightly and leave no trace. Learn more about responsible and respectful travel on Yorke Peninsula.
