A concert to commemorate the official opening of the Vietnam Veterans Walk in Edithburgh on 18 August 2025.
John Schumann (ex-Redgum, famous for "I Was Only 19") and his band The Vagabond Crew will present their concert event, 'Australia at War in Words & Music'.

Beloved local band Cruizin' Blues will open the show from 2pm followed by the esteemed John Schumann and the Vagabond Crew's special performance to mark the opening of the Vietnam War Memorial Walk project, a nationally-significant walk of remembrance.

“Some voices are like old friends - familiar at once, not broken by time or distance. John Schumann’s voice carries the wind in from the outback. It has grains of red dust and yellow earth, it’s flecked with toil, hardship, humanity and love. It’s as old as the land, with a gnarled weariness, like the weathered bark of a gum, tinged with the light of hope” - Warwick McFadyen

The Yorke Peninsula is the traditional lands of the Narungga (Nharangga) people, who have lived on, and cared for, this country since the beginning of time. We work, live and travel on Nharannga Banggara [Country], and we take time away from those pursuits to acknowledge and pay our deep respects to the Nharangga Elders of the past and present.

Today, it is essential that we continue to care for and protect our spectacular natural environment. Tread lightly and leave no trace. Learn more about responsible and respectful travel on Yorke Peninsula.
