The first day of every New Year marks Gala Day at Port Vincent when the main foreshore section of the town is closed off and becomes a fairground for the day.

The annual and popular Port Vincent Gala Day is a guaranteed fabulously fun family day out with pop up shops, market stalls, sideshows, raffles, food vans, kids activities, live music and fireworks after dark. The spectacular display is one of the biggest on the Yorke Peninsula and lights up the bay and the foreshore area. The Gala Day has been a regular feature at Port Vincent for over 50 years and attracts locals and visitors from all over the Yorke Peninsula.

The Yorke Peninsula is the traditional lands of the Narungga (Nharangga) people, who have lived on, and cared for, this country since the beginning of time. We work, live and travel on Nharannga Banggara [Country], and we take time away from those pursuits to acknowledge and pay our deep respects to the Nharangga Elders of the past and present.

Today, it is essential that we continue to care for and protect our spectacular natural environment. Tread lightly and leave no trace. Learn more about responsible and respectful travel on Yorke Peninsula.
