Stansbury Seaside Markets are held on the foreshore at Oyster Bay, located on South Australia's Yorke Peninsula's eastern side. They occur seven times each season from October to April, running from 9am to 1pm. Entry is free, and dogs on leads are allowed. Each market features over 70 stalls spread across three areas of the foreshore lawns.
Stallholders bring homemade preserves, pastries and sweets, local jewellery and artwork, hand poured candles, clothing, fishing gear, plants and garden art, wood and metal work, local gin and beer, and food to eat while you are there.
The lawns run down to the water, with shaded picnic tables under the fig trees and Norfolk pines. The jetty, the beach and the town are all a short walk away.
Countdown by the Coast runs on 31 December as a twilight market, followed by live music and fireworks over the bay.
The markets have run since 2003 and are organised by the Stansbury Progress Association, a volunteer committee.
