The Moonta Township Clues and Picnic Experience invites visitors to explore the historic heart of Moonta through a self-guided trail of clues, local flavours and storytelling.

Participants follow a series of clues that guide them through the township, unlocking a collection of local stops along the way. Each correct answer reveals a new location where a picnic item is collected, while sharing stories of Moonta's rich heritage, community and hidden gems.

The experience includes: a curated clue-led walking trail of approximately three kilometres; collection of locally sourced picnic items from selected businesses; storytelling at each stop; and a final picnic location within the township to relax and enjoy the experience.

Designed to be enjoyed at a relaxed pace over several hours, the experience is suitable for couples, families and small groups. It offers an engaging way to explore Moonta's streets, discover local businesses and connect with the character of this historic copper mining town.

The Moonta Township Clues and Picnic Experience is unique in combining food, discovery and light adventure, creating a memorable and meaningful way to experience the destination.

The Yorke Peninsula is the traditional lands of the Narungga (Nharangga) people, who have lived on, and cared for, this country since the beginning of time. We work, live and travel on Nharannga Banggara [Country], and we take time away from those pursuits to acknowledge and pay our deep respects to the Nharangga Elders of the past and present.

Today, it is essential that we continue to care for and protect our spectacular natural environment. Tread lightly and leave no trace. Learn more about responsible and respectful travel on Yorke Peninsula.
