Coastal Fun

Yorke Peninsula is a favourite destination for families - with plenty to keep the kids entertained.

From catching your first fish to crabbing, beachcombing, building sandcastles or enjoying a swim.

Cast a line from one of our jetties or beaches – try your luck at catching anything from the yummy King George whiting to squid, tommies, garfish, snook and many more!

Grab an old pair of sneakers and rake the shallows for blue swimmer crabs (the warmer months from September to April are best).

  • Snorkel under historic jetties or over reefs and sea grasses. There is a whole new world to discover underwater and you may be lucky enough to see the mysterious leafy sea dragon or a dolphin!

  • Hire a kayak and go for a paddle at Wallaroo or Port Vincent

  • Enjoy a round of minigolf

  • Try body boarding or you can learn to surf with Neptune’s Surf Coaching with classes for young and old…maybe Mum and Dad can learn too!

  • Walk the Yorke on one of the many coastal trails

  • See what birds you can find at the Coobowie Bird Hide

  • Enjoy a swim at one of the great Yorke Peninsula beaches or take a dip in the Edithburgh Tidal Pool

  • Get wet at the Splash Town Water Park at Moonta Bay
